NEWS TOKYOPOP proudly debuts the all-new music video, Princess Ai: Broken Leash, premiering at the inaugural New York Anime Festival on Saturday, December 8, 2007. Based on TOKYOPOP’s sizzling international manga franchise, Princess Ai: Broken Leash is a collaboration between TOKYOPOP, top anime studio Satelight, and Asian CG powerhouse Menfond Electronic Art, making it the first-ever Japan/U.S. production that melds traditional anime with live-action and CG media. My Dead Girlfriend, the manga created by Eric Wight, who is best known for his work on the television show The O.C., has been optioned for primetime network TV series development. My Dead Girlfriend is a Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) nominee for 2008 Great Graphic Novels for Teens, and Publishers Weekly raves: "The fast-paced story will appeal to teenage readers." |

TOKYOPOP Germany has just published Liberty – Raised out of Dirt by Nheira. Nheira is known as part of the artist duo Pink Psycho which was all the rage in 2006 with its Oneshot In the End. Now the young artist, who is also well known in the visual-kei scene, presents a special art book with a collection of illustrations, short stories, manga, lyrics, and photos that center around the topics of heaven, Earth and hell. This complex project was realized with support of the Japanese fashion labels HIDEROCK and GLAMOUR PUNKS, who designed exclusive outfits for the photos. A special thanks to star photographer Susumu Miyawaki, who has an imposing reputation due to his work for Shoxx, Foolmate, and others.
